The Marlin 60 has a tube fed magazine that creates three problems. 1) It is fed from the front, and that potentially presents a safety issue because you have to be closer to the muzzle to load it. 2) if you do not screw in the tube follower correctly when loading it, the assembly will shoot forward.For comparison, check out the Savage 62. I picked up one at a Walmart in Sturgis, MI for $99+tax. Basically the same as a Ruger 10/22 or 795. Ten round mag, semi-auto, 22LR, blued metal but synthetic stock (not as pretty as the 795). Shot well with a variety of ammo and was more accurate than my 10/22s out of the box.
