In this course, students develop expressive and receptive American Sign Language (ASL) skills at an introductory level, participating in one-to-one and group conversations of varying topics. Students also learn basic grammatical principals of ASL, and foundational concepts of Deaf culture, with a focus on implications for future careers. ASL 2150C.The Interpreting Pedagogy concentration consists of 30 credit hours that contains courses on teaching translation, teaching interpreting, applied research, assessment, distance learning, adult learning, and curriculum development. The program is distance-friendly and uses a cohort model with a maximum of 15 students per year.
