The piston is nice because it has a suppressed setting, but other than that, 5.56 recoil is really mild, even in an "overgassed" rifle. Both my 12.5” specwar and 12” shovelnose run great. Just use hot ammo hold ur breath. Piston feels the same for all ammo and the DI varies between loads.
