It appears that the OP is looking at Torque Specs for a Boss 302. There was no 4 bolt main 289 block. All 289/302 main cap bolts are torqued to 60-70 ft/lbs. On the Boss 302 all of the larger bolts are torqued to 60-70 ft/lbs and the smaller bolts on the 3 center caps with 4 bolts are probably torqued to 40 ft/lbs.
